Alpine Majesty, Last Light #2

This is a giant fugue of late evening light, tumbling across a wide mountain range. Above, banks of rain clouds lift up, leaving a wet and fragrant forest below. Those deep chords underpin the lively mid-section passage of rock and snow forms. This piece is as much about the modulating lines and rhythms of shape as it is about atmosphere.

“Come watch with me the shaft of fire that glows In yonder West: the fair, frail palaces, The fading Alps and archipelagoes,
And great cloud-continents of sunset-seas.”
