Highland Tapestry Sundown #1

Beyond a rocky ridge cresting a patchwork hillside of farmland, vivid colors emerge at sundown. The glowing cloud-forms wash the hills with a warm light that brushes the tops of aromatic plantings in the rolling farmland. As the night develops and cools, the perfume of herbs comes to life. Driving by farmlands of aromatic crops at sundown, with their heady mixture of colors and scents is intoxicating. This work attempts to capture the experience.

“Soon it got dusk, a grapy dusk, a purple dusk over tangerine groves and long melon fields; the sun the color of pressed grapes, slashed with burgundy red, the fields the color of love and Spanish mysteries.”
