Seacoast Tidal Flats
Tidal pools on the seacoast are like fleeting brushstrokes of blue-violet in this abstract seascape. Sweeping stretches of sand emerge from the sea as arcs and ripples, shaped by the tides. In the foreground, green slopes and reddish ground cover frame the view of the ocean. A temporary, shifting landscape like this is best expressed through abstraction, and that is my intent here.

“I really don’t know why it is that all of us are so committed to the sea, except I think it’s because in addition to the fact that the sea changes, and the light changes, and ships change, it’s because we all came from the sea.”
John F. Kennedy
