Turbulent heights #1: cerulean & gold

This piece is all about turbulent energy. Turbulence and energy are the very genesis of the mountain itself. Swirling atmosphere here combines with the upheaval of the mountain peak’s rocky forms and they become one, in a dynamic counterpoint between rock and cloud. Cerulean blue seems to have an innate energy and I spread it liberally throughout this composition. I used streaks of lime green to further animate the intensity of this work. The contrasting gold and pink horizontals of the foreground stabilize the work, like an underscore.
